Travel and Tourism Students' Wishes Came True...
when they raised a staggering £1015.00 for the Make a Wish Foundation!
In November last year the College's Travel and Tourism students decided to put their event planning skills to good use to raise money for charity. They decided to raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children, aged 3 - 17, who are living with life threatening illnesses. The students gave themselves a target of raising £500.

Since then the students have gone from strength to strength, organising henna tattooing events, holding cake sales, quizzes and tombolas as well as helping shoppers in Morrisons in Evesham and Budgens in Moreton-in-Marsh to pack their shopping bags.
The grand finale was the Channel Tunnel Challenge held in December. Twelve students travelled the distance of the Channel Tunnel (50.84km) using gym equipment at the Rivers Leisure Centre in Evesham. The students roped in two of their tutors who had the difficult task of travelling the return journey. The challenge was to not only cover the distance but also to complete the task within one hour.
"The students have been incredibly enthusiastic about the fundraising since they chose the charity at the end of last year. They have organised and publicised the events themselves and encouraged staff and students from across college to take part. It is because of their enthusiasm and event planning skills that they have raised this staggering sum of money", said Katrina Malley, Travel and Tourism Course Manager.
