Travel and Tourism Fund-raising

South Worcestershire College students raising funds for Vale of Evesham School for learners with special educational needs

On Thursday 27th May 2010 second year Travel and Tourism students will be giving up their free time to raise funds to support educational visits for learners at the Vale of Evesham School. Funds will be raised by holding a Travel and Tourism event at the Evesham campus with doors opening at 5.30pm. Information and presentations will take place after a bucks fizz reception introduced by the principal of the college Michael O’Brien.

Course Manager, Katrina Malley said of her students, ‘unlike previous years my students wanted to achieve good grades and give something back to their local community’.

Since February, they have had a succession of small fund raisers to finance this event completely by themselves. This included a cake sale at the campus, Wii bowling events and bag packing at Morrisons. They have  already obtained a range of raffle prizes which can be won on the night. They would like to encourage anyone interested in this college course to come along on Thursday 27th May 2010 from 6pm to find out more about life as a Travel and Tourism student.
