New Arrivals at South Worcestershire College

New Arrivals at South Worcestershire College Wednesday, 23rd Jun 2010

Students at South Worcestershire College are celebrating the safe arrival of four baby ferrets.

Mum and dad, Gwen and George are part of the ever increasing range of animals who live at the college and who are looked after by the Animal Care students.

"Occasionally we like to breed from our animals because our students really benefit from learning about breeding management and caring for pregnant females and their young" said Animal Care Course Manager, Karen Gordon-Brander.

"The newborns provide our students with the opportunity to monitor growth and development, and learn about potential health risks associated with different species."

"The kits are now eight weeks old, and are big and health ready to leave mum."

If anyone is interested in re-homing one of the ferrets please contact Karen Gordon-Brander on (01386) 712689.
