Beauty Student Success at National Sterex Competition

A Level 3 Beauty Therapy student from South Worcestershire College is celebrating her success at a National beauty competition hosted by Sterex Electrolysis International.
Student Verity Kent fought her way through strong competition to win joint second place at this year’s national Sterex Student of the Year Competition.
The competition started for Verity when heats were held within the college so that a student could be selected to represent the College. Verity came top of the in-house heats and on 6th May she, her mum and tutor, Sam Sears, travelled to the Sterex Academy in Birmingham for the official competition heats.
"Competitors can either submit a DVD of themselves performing a treatment on a client, or they can attend the Academy itself and perform an epilation treatment in front of the judge" said Beauty Therapy tutor Sam Sears. "In total there were approximately 160 Beauty Therapy students from around the country competing for one of the finalist positions."
"Verity did exceptionally well in the competition, which was judged by the Director of Training and PR at Sterex Electrolysis International, Elaine Stoddart and Sterex Head trainer, Carolyn Claypole. Once Verity had performed her treatment, Elaine spoke to me about Verity's performance and gave her ten out of ten for her appearance, which is a huge compliment from someone who is so well thought of in the Industry!" said Sam.
Verity attended the Grand Final on the 15th June and was thrilled to be awarded joint second place.
"To be as young as Verity, compete against Electrologists from all over the country and be part of the grand final is incredible" said Sam. "This competition is considered one of the most prestigious in the industry and Verity has achieved more than we could ever have dreamt of."
