Course Fees and Financial Assistance

Full-time Courses

The Government makes funding available for some learners to cover the tuition costs of their course. The Secretary of State does not expect tuition fees to be charged to full-time 16-18 year old students.

The tuition fees may be payable for those aged 19 and over and for full-time courses starting from September 2011 the fee will be £750. There may also be a fee for any examinations.

Whether a fee is payable depends on your personal circumstances, including your level of qualifications and whether you are in receipt of certain benefits. Please contact the Learner Services Team on 01386 712601 for further advice.

All full-time students will need to pay a materials fee on enrolment and may also be required to pay additional costs to cover kits, uniforms etc.

You will be advised of all fees prior to enrolment. If you have any questions about course fees you may call the Learner Services Team on 01386 712601.

There are also a number of local charitable trusts that may able to help and the Learner Services Team will be able to provide you with information of these.

Part-time Courses

The part-time courses have a tuition fee and may also have a materials and an examination fee. The fees vary according to the type and length of the course. Course fees for current courses will be published in the latest part-time Course Guide and on our web site.

Some courses attract a remission of tuition fees in certain circumstances, the Learner Services Team on 01386 712601 will be able to advise you.
