The Level 2 Apprenticeship is primarily aimed at candidates whose role it is to provide service to customers.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be employed in a customer service environment and it will be a benefit to have achieved at least two GCSEs at Grade C or above.

Employers are looking for people who have a keen interest in providing excellent customer service and working as part of a team. Basic literacy and numeracy skills are required and a can do attitude.  

What does the Apprenticeship cover?

The units on this course will cover the diverse range of functions, tasks and activities that are covered in a customer service role. You will study units such as Dealing with Customers Face to Face, Delivering Reliable Customer Service, Improve the Customer Relationship and Go the Extra Mile in Customer Service.

You will also study Functional Skills in Maths and English.

How long does it take?

The Level 2 Apprenticeship will normally be completed within a 12-18 month period. You may be required to attend College one day per week and will be at your place of employment for the remainder.

How is the course assessed?

You will be assessed on your ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with your work.

You will be continually assessed throughout the course by means of practical assessments and end of unit written or online tests and assignments which can be re-taken if necessary.

What will I achieve and where do I go next?

On successful completion of this Apprenticeship you will achieve the OCR Level 2 NVQ in Customer Service and Functional Skills at Level 1 in English and Maths.

You may use this qualification to progress onto the Level 3 Customer Service Apprenticeship or other Level 3 advanced apprenticeships where customer service is an important part of the job such as business and administration, retail, hospitality and travel and tourism.

What are the costs involved?

Learners over the age of 19 may be required to pay a fee; this is dependant upon prior qualifications obtained.
