This is an exciting course which gives you the opportunity to explore game design and interactive media applications. The course is designed to accommodate students with some knowledge although previous experience is not vital. This course would suit people who are interested in the more creative side of computers.

What qualifications do I need?
You will need a broad education and preferably five GCSEs at Grade A* - C ( one of which should be in an academic subject - preferably English)or a Level 2 qualification at mainly Merit level.
All applicants will need to have a successful interview.
What's involved?
You will study a range of subjects including:
- Digital graphics
- Game design
- 2D and 3D Game engines
- Web Development
- 2D animation
- You will also study one Functional Skill in each year.
How will I be studying?
Students will use a range of study techniques ranging from formal taught sessions, through online tutorials and workshops to self directed study. The course uses online resources for both learning and assessment purposes. There is an emphasis on independence of thought and students are encouraged to explore their ideas and develop technical skills.
Where can I move on to after this course?
This vocational course can lead directly into employment in the media industry but also allows progression to a variety of University courses such as web development, game development and graphic design. Employment opportunities include junior web developers, graphic designers and trainee marketing personnel.
